Every day of the week except weekends I have a working schedule starting at 9AM and finishing at 6PM. These days I don't only spend at our main office in Sliema, but also at Gold Lion ResidenSea - company's guesthouse in St. Julian's - the most visited area in Malta! This is because Marketing Team tasks are divided between Gold Lion Real Estate, Gold Lion ResidenSea and Gold Lion Holding as a whole and being present at the location of the office insures better information flow with the employees and the Management. 

Maggie is a Financial Accounting & Administration Intern from the Philippines! She is the one (together with an office manager Bobby) who will greet you at our office with a smile and a cup of hot cappuccino :)

As a Marketing team we try to spend 2 days on Gold Lion Real Estate tasks, 2 days on Gold Lion ResidenSea's and 1 day on Gold Lion Holding tasks. This means I spend 3 days of the week in our office in Sliema as it is both Gold Lion Real Estate and Gold Lion Holding office. Here we specialise on website quality control, social media planning, monthly real estate promotions, marketing records analysis and content creation to name a few. To elaborate more on it, as an intern I am the one responsible for a website check at least once a week in order to confirm all the property pictures are according to the standards and there are no typos and other mistakes. As regards to social media, it is prepared weekly (both content and visuals) and delivered to the CEOs for approval; here we have to be creative enough to think about the content which will be interesting to our reader. Marketing records are done monthly in relation to the social media and website (for that we access Google Analytics, Facebook results, Google My Business, Sabee - cloud hotel management system). 

One of the Marketing Executives Elgars writes content for our daily Facebook posts and weekly website blog posts. Despite this fact, once in a while he gives me an opportunity to write content on my own, which I must say is very challenging.
I love writing, however to be honest, I have to be in the right mood for it, which doesn't come that easy. Elgars told me he has the same problem, but when he doesn't - his content comes out amazing! I call him the King of the content :)
So far I have 3 blogs written about our employees. In order to do that, I first had to conduct a real interview with them! WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!

 Here they consider research to be my strength. I wonder why :) 2 years of Saxion made me a master in it! If there is a related task that comes up - they would rather give it to me immediately.
Promotional items was a part of the biggest tasks I did during the first 2 months of my internship. Here I looked at pens, luggage tags, business cards, wine bags, eco-friendly items. Not only did I try to look for fit-in-the-budget options, but also find long-lasting materials and suitable designs! As a result, whole lot of 1000 luggage tags were ordered for Gold Lion ResidenSea, which they are planning to put on their clients' luggage so they take a memory of their beautiful stay in Malta with them :)

On one of the networking events I've attended here in Malta, I met Patrizia Patti (left). Patrizia is a marine biologist with an enormous passion for marine life and all that it has to offer! Her knowledge and experience has motivated her to give back to the society – she has become a founder of  Eco Marine Malta with whom partnered up our very own Gold Lion ResidenSea. Having established a collaboration, we are now able to offer our guests unique trips around the Maltese Islands where they will be taught to care about the environment.

On Saturday May 26th our team will have a chance to participate in an official beach volleyball competition. There will be some prizes given out to the winners of the competition, however to pump it up with more fun - all the players should be wearing funny costumes. The Marketing Team - being responsible for Event Management, is in charge of organising this event and all its details as well as choosing costumes for the team!

 Our Office Manager Bobby - the person who keeps the world spinning! This stunning puppy Bobby is holding visited our office these weeks!

 Surprisingly, Gold Lion Holding is not even 2 years old! Because of this, we are constantly looking for new collaborations to establish in order to increase our brand awareness. Recently, Diana and I were invited to visit a potential partner of ResidenSea - Malta5D to watch a short movie about the islands with historical highlights.

Here at Gold Lion Holding, I get a hands-on diversified experience along with an opportunity to grow and prove myself in the areas I like the most. Not the least important is the Marketing team I work in: together with Diana and Elgars we have the right synergy between us, which is needed for the continuous workflow. I get an enormous support from them both as well as the trust to work independently.

Business trips of a student - everything is possible!

Being a student in the Netherlands you have many privileges (if you know about them): endless student discounts, tax reductions, special promotions and last but not least many opportunities to grow as a person while at the educational institution. At Saxion University of Applied Sciences where I am currently doing my study, I am not only a student, but also a student ambassador - a person who one would be in contact with if coming to Saxion for a day or when having specific study related questions. This job entitles my involvement within the International Office of my university, and participation in promotional activities, such as fairs, webinars, social media takeovers, etc. In September-October 2017 I had a chance to physically take part in several fairs (in Russia, Lithuania and Latvia) and personally tell my experience to those interested in coming to study at Saxion.
